The Prettiest Quilt Shop in Vermont

A final look at some scenes along the road in Stowe. . . [Note to self: When I buy a log cabin getaway in Vermont, be sure to get the moose stove from a previous post. Also, be sure it is near a field of beautiful horses. Oh, one more thing . . . be sure it has a balcony so I may drape quilts over it. :-)
Just keep repeating, "There is no place like Vermont . . . There is no place like Vermont . . . There is no place like Vermont."   :-)

On the way home, we stopped at Country Treasures in the historic town of Chester, Vermont. This quilt shop has room after room after room of fabric, patterns, books, and notions.

 That brings me to the last quilt shop stop on our getaway,  Waterwheel House Quilt Shop, in Londonderry, VT. To my mind, it is the prettiest quilt shop in Vermont. Lovely quilts are displayed on the porch giving a hint of the beautiful fabrics and quilts inside. Simply beautiful . . . bright happy colors .  . . a must stop for all quilters.

By the parking area there were wild lupine and Edith and Laurel indulged my love of lupines. I was thrilled to see so many still in bloom.

Warning: I Brake for Lupines

Miss Rumphius and I have something in common . . . we love lupines. The beloved fictional character beautified her world by scattering lupine seeds everywhere.  I headed with my friend to Bar Harbor the first week of June hoping that the lupine would be in bloom. As you can see, I was in lupine heaven.

 

A few of the top photos were taken in Acadia National Park while others were taken along different roadways and in fields. We saw lupine along the highway coming home, but don't worry, I woudn't brake for lupine there. :-)

Pemaquid Beauty

     My friend Laurel is in a class that I am currently teaching at Heart in Hands in South Weymouth, MA. I've been showing how to turn an original photo into an art quilt. Laurel will not be able to attend tomorrow's third and final class, but that is no problem as we often get together on Friday afternoons to quilt as we did today. She has finished all of the fusing, and today began the stitching. I love how she used angelina fiber to create a shimmer around the beacon light. I will be bringing her piece to class tomorrow to show the other ladies her progress, and hopefully, they will allow me to post photos of their pieces here on my blog as well.
     I'm not sure, but I'm thinking Laurel just might end up with an A+ in this class!!!
