A Special Cake and Ice Cream Social

What do these four sparkly dressed women have in common??? Well, they all happily taught in the Weymouth Public Schools for many, many years. They all enjoy going out for breakfast, to lunch, and to game nights. Finally, they are all turning . . . gasp . . . seventy-five this year. Kathy, on the far right, decided to host a fun cake and ice cream social yesterday to celebrate with our friends.

Kathy’s mom Mae was there. She will be turning 104 on July 13th! She is an absolute delight and as sharp as a tack!!!

We are blessed to have so many wonderful friends.

Last Saturday was also a special day as I hosted the “Webb Street Girls” at my home. (June 17th marked one year since moving to this house.) It is great for entertaining and it was their first time seeing it   My friends Cathy and Marilyn, and I see each other often, but the only time we have seen the three girls who grew up next door to me had sadly been at wakes. Each time we would say that we definitely should get together, but it never happened.  Cindy, the middle girl, and Cathy recently kept bumping into each other so a get together was finally planned. I wish I had taken photos but neglected to do so, but trust me, we all haven’t changed a bit. :-) We spent a lovely afternoon reminiscing about happy times from our childhood and catching up on our adult lives. It was so enjoyable that we will be doing it again in the fall.

Have a fun weekend. :-)
