I attended the Society of Sewing meeting at Ann's Fabrics in Canton this afternoon and while there I purchased Fast, Fun and Easy Scrapbook Quilts, Create a Keepsake for Every Memory by Sue Astroth. The author gives instructions and ideas for creating small wallhangings incorporating techniques used by scrapbookers. The approach is similar to making a journal quilt. Sounds like fun! I think I'll make one to commemorate my trip to the Canadian Rockies and another based on my trip to Tuscany.
